Interestingly enough, Ollie started out rocking back and forth on all fours; now that he's actually crawling, though, he does more of a glide/shimmy across the floor. He is most motivated by Hudson's toys (i.e. ones that have small parts that he really shouldn't put in his mouth!)
Most of the time we take pics and video when the kids are in good moods. The following video is pretty representative of our time sans camera.
Oliver is SUPER pathetic when he's teething. He spent most of today snuggled up to me and moaning. I'm not kidding.
Hudson has always loved his trucks, but I think he's crossed some sort of line here...

Meatmeal
Hudson's favorite food lately is oatmeal. Partially because he likes the way it tastes, but mostly because he likes to say it!

Hudson makes life more interesting
Hudson started taking gymnastics classes last week, and so far his favorite activity is the trampoline. I think his smile speaks for itself!
And Hudson's interpretation of "napping" is pretty unique, too...
Oh, and you might notice that price tag right near his head....well, he's decided that he likes to "cuddle" with his new truck clothes. Particularly sweaters with fire trucks on them. I know, he's a nut!

September 2010
So it's been awhile since our last update. Partially because life is crazy, and partially because our video camera was stolen on our cross-country trip in August :( Of course, all of our videos from the summer were still on it. Lesson learned: transfer videos much more often. And try to keep better track of our stuff!
So here are the updates...
Hudson has lots of new expressions, but one of our favorites is "how about that?" You'll have to wait until the very end to hear it, but it's pretty cute.
I had no idea that Hudson could count to ten until today! Now he's obsessed with counting everything - toes, people, and of course, trucks.
Earlier this month, Oliver started eating solids. It took a little getting used to at first, but he's getting better at it every day. Hudson LOVES "helping" feed him!
As you can see, it makes a bit of a mess. Ok, so it's a huge disaster! Instead of cleaning the kitchen top to bottom after every meal, we figured out a slightly neater way to get Ollie his food...
Simon and I are able to get some good laughs out of Oliver, but his favorite comedian is still Hudson. It doesn't matter what Hudson says...Oliver will giggle his little heart out!
Once our fabulous sleeper, Oliver has started waking at very inconvenient times wanting to play/cuddle/blow razzberries at us. Cute, but it's getting old pretty fast! We are hoping for a full night of sleep one of these days!
Of course, Oliver does sleep sometimes. Like in the middle of the Boxford Apple Festival when we expected him to be wide awake!
Hudson had a great time at the festival, but he was torn between his two loves - Owen, and his new truck book!
He really enjoyed the newest addition to the festival - bouncy houses and a jeep ride!
When Ollie did wake up, he enjoyed dancing to the live music (with a little help from Daddy...)
Sleep deprivation has taken its toll on the whole family...but Mommy gets the worst of it...
...in my defense, the socks were most definitely skin-colored!

Carnivals, birthdays, and peas!!
What a day! We went to the Andover Carnival, where Hudson got to ride trucks AND trains!
Hudson LOVES to help lately. No matter what Simon or I are doing, we have a little helper chanting "Hudson. Helping. Hudson. Helping" He may not be much help yet, but he is entertaining!
Hudson is obsessed with Oliver already. He wants to play with him, hug him, kiss him, hold him, etc. 24 hours a day!
Oh, and he likes to play on Ollie's play mat, too. And read to him.
In the past month, Oliver's smiles and laughs have gotten much more frequent :) His musical star gets an awful lot of love these days!
What's better than a bouncy house? A bouncy slide, of course! Hudson loved playing on this huge slide at his buddy's birthday party. He was a pro at climbing up the ladder - although he also enjoyed sliding back down!
Recently, Ollie starting having "conversations" with us. He's such a happy baby and we can't get enough of his happy sounds!
Hudson clearly takes after his Daddy's side of the family in his attitude towards peas... Aunt Becca and Grammy would be appalled by this behavior!
Hudson likes his new fireman's coat so much that he wants to wear it all the time. Everywhere. Even when it's 90 degrees out.
Simon dj'd a "truck rodeo" last weekend at our local Target. We took Hudson, and he had a blast! Not only did he get to do a bike obstacle course, but he met a celebrity - his daddy!

Hudson makes a mess
After posting these videos, I realized that I need to get more of Ollie. Too bad he mostly just eats, sleeps and poops...
We knew things had been a little too quiet in Hudson's room after his nap...
I took the boys to a dance party at the library. Unfortunately, Hudson didn't want to participate once he realized that there wouldn't be any trucks involved. Hey, at least he had a hard hat to keep him happy!
Hudson shows off his reading skills. Ok, object identification skills.

Oliver's first month
It's hard to believe that Oliver is already a month old! We've kept very busy this April - from swim classes to dining out with friends (a whole new experience with two kids!) to hanging out with Aunt Becca...I hope life will only continue to be this much fun!

19 Month Shenanigans
Hudson learned a new phrase while out for dinner - French Fries! Of course, now he asks for French Fries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Hudson doesn't discriminate. He loves doggies of all shapes, sizes, and building material.
I think Hudson likes the layout of our house :)
Why did we feel the need to videotape Hudson watching TV for 15 seconds? Because it is the FIRST time he's ever done it! He never stops to watch tv like this. Plus, the blanket implies that he's sort of CUDDLING! Didn't last long, but at least we got it on camera!
Hudson and his buddy Owen at a hockey game with their Dads. Hudson liked when the players went "BUM!"
Why should he be the subject all the time? Hudson let Daddy take the limelight for once :)

Trip to Baltimore
We got to visit Aunt Becca and Uncle Adam a few weekends ago, and were treated to great food, fun museums, and LOTS of empty boxes! A little boy's dream!
This was Hudson's favorite part of the air and space museum. Of course, it does seem a lot like driving a truck....
One must be polite when being introduced to a large, stuffed mammal!
Can you tell that I spend a lot of time wiping up the table when Hudson is eating? He seems to have caught on....
Who needs toys when you've got empty boxes?!

Hudson loved going down the big slide at Imajine that with Aunt Becca!
This one he could handle on his own.
Why is this so much fun...even for adults?
This truck from the Mulhern Family was a big hit!
This is why Darby loves snow storms...her Daddy spoils her rotten!
Hudson enjoys his tubby :)
What do the McCaffery's do when the temp hits the negative digits? Go swimming, of course!
I'm not even going to address why he was eating pasta for breakfast....
We attempted to get a photo with most of the boys from one of Hudson's playgroup. This was the result...
What's better than playing in the snow? Playing with a big TRUCK in the snow, of course!
